The Newman Story
A Roofing Company You Can Trust.
1992
The Start of Newman Roofing
Tim Newman grew up in the roofing industry with his career beginning as an installer on his father's roofing crew when he was a teenager. Tim decided to build his own company in 1992 as a means for providing for his growing family. His sole purpose when starting the business was simple: take good care of people and do the right thing. Tim has built a solid foundation for Newman Roofing based on the principles of quality, character, integrity, and honesty.
2011
Becoming a Family Business
As the company continued to grow, Tim knew that he was going to need someone to help him run the daily operations. Barbi Newman decided to join the Newman Roofing team in 2011. Tim and Barbi have always appreciated dedication and hard work.
Now
Tradition Continues
Having seen the effort, time, and dedication put forth by their parents, the Newman daughters take pride in trying to live up to the role models that they had been given. After working to achieve their Master's Degrees and pursue independent careers, both Alyssa and Alexis decided to join the family business. They look forward to helping carry on the legacy built by their parents.
Experience the Newman Difference.
Companies in the roofing industry will often talk of integrity, trust, and passion. Less often do they talk about a commitment to quality with a consistent product. Instead of promising the consumer that we are the best company in the industry, we strive to have our reputation and results speak for themselves.

Anatomy of a Newman Roof
Decking
A new roof is only as good as the deck it's installed onto. For homes built prior to 1950, we recommend installing plywood over any old planking board to ensure the integrity and longevity of all roofing components attached to the roof deck.

Anatomy of a Newman Roof
Underlayments
We offer two types of CertainTeed synthetic, lightweight premium underlayments which outperform felt and outlast other synthetic underlayments.
CertainTeed RoofRunner®
Designed for use on roof decks as a water-resistant layer beneath asphalt roofing shingles, this scrim-reinforced underlayment includes a special top-surface treatment that provides excellent slip resistance, even when wet.
CertainTeed DiamondDeck®
A synthetic, scrim-reinforced, water-resistant underlayment that can be used beneath shingles, shake, metal, or slate roofing. It has exceptional dimensional stability compared to standard felt underlayments.
CertainTeed WinterGuard Ice & Water Shield®
Per the Ohio Building Code, we will always install ice & water shield. This waterproof, protective moisture barrier prevents leaks from ice dams and wind-driven rain in vulnerable areas.
Anatomy of a Newman Roof
Drip Edge
Drip edge is a critical component of any high-quality roofing system. It adds a finished look and additional waterproofing to your home and helps water flow directly into your gutters. All of our drip edging is made from corrosion-resistant materials.
Eave Edge
Commonly referred to as gutter apron, eave edge is installed on any apron that gutters are attached to. We use a commercial-grade eave edge with hemmed edges.
Rake Edge
The rake is the slanting edge of a gable roof at the end of the house. We install commercial-grade rake edge on all rakes.
Anatomy of a Newman Roof
Valleys : open vs. closed
The slopes of your roof are designed to wick water away and direct it toward your gutters. Both valley types are covered by the same warranty and are installed on top of a strip of ice & water shield for added protection.
Closed Valleys
Commonly referred to as the "California Cut," we install shingles along the length of the valley in an overlapping application. This process ensures protection from water leakage.
Open Valleys
We install a 29-gauge pre-painted galvalume along the entire length of the valley. Valley metal is available in black, bronze, and brown.
Anatomy of a Newman Roof
Dead Valleys
A dead valley is an area on a roofing system created by the junction of two slopes or a slope with a wall, where water cannot run off the roof easily. Proper low-sloped materials are used to handle slow water runoff without premature deterioration.
Anatomy of a Newman Roof
Chimney Flashing
Our chimney flashings are custom-made in our metal shop, which ensures a precise and dependable fit. All of our chimney flashings are available in black, bronze, and brown.
When we go on service calls related to leaks around the chimney flashing, we often find that the source of the trouble is faulty flashing installation by other contractors. We do it right the first time.
Anatomy of a Newman Roof
Intake Ventilation
Proper ventilation will remove moisture and heat from your home while extending the life of your roof. It also reduces the risk of future problems by minimizing the temperature differential between the attic and the outside air.
Anatomy of a Newman Roof
Exhaust Ventilation
For a ridge vent to work properly, the attic must have adequate intake of fresh, cool air. As the ridge vent expels hot, humid air, intake vents feed fresh cool air into the attic.
Ridge Vent
Installed at the peak of a sloped roof, ridge vent allows damp, warm air to escape from the attic, increasing energy efficiency and prolonging the life of your roof.
Hat Vents
Hat vents are installed along roof ridges and can take the place of ridge vent in areas where there is not a sufficient amount of ridge to vent through.
Cap Master
We install Cap Master pipe covers to protect the rubber gaskets from harmful UV rays and deterioration.

Anatomy of a Newman Roof
Bath Vents
When installed properly, bath and kitchen vents play a critical role in keeping your attic ventilated and moisture free. Exhausting these vents into the attic can cause moisture problems and rot, leading to costly repairs, we do it right.
Siding
DuPont™ Tyvek® is a premium house wrap that protects your home from wind and rain while still allowing water vapor to escape, so your insulation can work the way it's meant to. We install it as the house wrap on all of our siding jobs, it's one more way we look out for your home over the long run.
DuPont™ Tyvek® Tape keeps both water and air out at every seam. It's strong, highly waterproof, and built to last as long as the wrap itself.

Siding
LP SmartSide
Made from ethically-harvested wood strands engineered to stand up to the elements, LP SmartSide is a dependable choice for protecting and enhancing your home. LP's SmartGuard process adds strength against impacts, freeze and thaw cycles, and high humidity, and it's shown higher resistance to hail damage than fiber cement or vinyl siding, built to withstand wind gusts up to 200 mph.

Panel and Lap Siding
LP SmartSide comes in a range of colors across both panel and lap siding styles, from bold statement colors to subtle natural tones, so there's a palette to fit your home and your taste.

Vinyl Siding
Mastic Carvedwood & SolarDefense
Our most popular option, vinyl siding can refresh the look of any home. Mastic Carvedwood and SolarDefense offer a range of colors to create a look that's truly yours, and if you'd like an accent, the Mastic Cedar Discovery line is a lovely touch. It's built to withstand the elements without chipping, peeling, or wearing, so there's no repainting down the road, just lasting, low-maintenance curb appeal.

Anatomy of a Newman Roof
Flintlastic : low slope
For any roof with a pitch below 2/12, we install CertainTeed Flintlastic, a low-slope modified bitumen roofing system. It's a premium, self-adhering bitumen material available in a range of colors to match the rest of your roof, so the low-slope sections get the same care as everything else.
Anatomy of a Newman Roof
Skylights
Thinking about adding skylights or replacing older ones? We recommend handling that alongside your roof replacement, it's far simpler to do together than on its own. You'll get the comfort of a waterproof seal and save money in the process, since it's less costly to replace skylights in conjunction with the roof.
Beyond the roof
Seamless Gutters & Gutter Guards
Available in 5" or 6" options, our custom seamless gutter systems are made of Ply Gem Mastic's highest-quality .027" and .032" thick premium aluminum coil metal, in a range of colors to match your home. Add a Gutter Protection System and spend a lot less time cleaning them out.

Like both asphalt & metal?
Consider a Metal Accent Roof
Metal roofing has grown more popular in recent years, and for good reason. Adding a metal accent roof to your system brings a modern touch and added dimension to your home's curb appeal.
Beyond the fresh look, metal also holds up well over time, giving you durability and longevity alongside the rest of your roof.
During & after the installation
Property Protection & Cleanup
Throughout the installation process, we do our best to protect your property. Our on-site job supervisors are happy to answer any questions you may have on installation day.
Once your roof is complete, our crew cleans out all gutters and runs a magnetic sweeper around the entire property to catch loose nails and metallic debris. We also run blowers across all decks, patios, and driveways. We treat your property as if it were our own, our goal is to leave it as clean, or cleaner, than it was when we arrived.
During & after the installation
Safety & Fall Protection
At Newman Roofing, safety is a top priority. We believe in protecting our installers, our employees, and you as the homeowner. Our job supervisors complete daily safety checklists to make sure our standards and guidelines are always being met. Safety is one area where costs can be cut in this industry, at Newman Roofing, that is not an option.
Our Commitment to you
Warranty
Lifetime Workmanship Warranty
With most workmanship warranties in the industry being less than 10 years, Newman Roofing wants to show that we are committed to you as our customer. We stand behind our product for the life of the roof. This means for the life of the shingle, we stand behind the installation of the roof.
Our workmanship warranty is exclusively through Newman Roofing, not a shingle manufacturer's warranty. That matters. It means you always know who to call.
Warranty Features
Response Time
If you call before noon during a business day, we will be out the same day. If you call after noon or during non-business hours, we will be out on the next business day. We have seen where some companies can take 2–3 weeks, that's not acceptable to us.
Paint & Drywall Damage
If there is a leak resulting from an installation issue, we will fix the roofing problem. Newman Roofing will also pay for paint and drywall damage. Most roofing companies do not pay for this. We put it in writing because we mean it.
Transfer
Our warranty can transfer twice over the life of the roof, protecting not just you, but the next owners of your home too.

In our customers' words
They trusted us. You can too.
"Newman Roofing did an excellent job installing our new roof. Their price was very fair and the representative did not push us for a fast decision. The installation was on time and expertly done. The workers were both efficient as well as very polite and tidy. The clean-up afterward was very thorough. I would very highly recommend this company!"
